01 Introduction

Welcome to AnimeKai Ai Hub - Mood Anime (“AnimeKai,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use our iOS application, why we process it, and what choices you have.

AnimeKai is an anime discovery app: browse titles, explore by mood, save favorites and watchlists, and watch trailers. We designed the app to keep personal data collection minimal. We do not sell your personal information.

Summary: Most of your activity stays on your device. Ads are served only through Google AdMob. Anime metadata comes from TMDB. Optional reminders use local notifications on your iPhone.

02 Information we collect

We do not require an account to use AnimeKai. We do not collect your name, email, or password inside the app.

Depending on how you use the app, the following may apply:

  • Device & app data — standard iOS technical data (e.g. device type, OS version, app version, crash/diagnostic logs if enabled by your device settings) to keep the app stable.
  • Advertising data — when ads are shown, Google AdMob may process identifiers and usage data as described in their policy (see Section 04).
  • Search queries — anime search terms you enter are sent to TMDB to return results; we do not build a personal profile from your searches on our servers (we have no backend user database).

03 Data stored on your device

Preferences such as favorites, watchlist, mood selection, search history, display name, and notification settings are stored locally on your device using iOS storage (e.g. UserDefaults). This data stays on your phone unless you delete the app or reset your device.

You can clear search history inside the app. Removing the app deletes locally stored app data.

04 Advertising (Google AdMob)

AnimeKai displays ads through Google AdMob to help keep the app free. AdMob is our only advertising partner.

Ad formats may include:

  • Banner ads
  • Interstitial (full-screen) ads
  • App open ads (when returning to the app from the background)

Before personalized ads load, the app may show:

  • Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt — you can allow or deny tracking across other companies’ apps and websites.
  • Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form — where required by law, to manage ad personalization and consent.

If you decline tracking or personalized ads, you can still use AnimeKai; ads may be less relevant and may be non-personalized where supported.

05 Anime content (TMDB)

Posters, descriptions, ratings, trailers, and other anime metadata are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). When you browse or search, your device requests this information from TMDB’s API. TMDB’s own privacy practices apply to their services.

AnimeKai uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

06 Notifications

If you enable notifications in Profile → Preferences, AnimeKai may schedule local reminders on your device (e.g. occasional anime discovery prompts). These are created on your phone — we do not send push notifications from our own servers.

You can turn notifications off anytime in the app or in iOS Settings → AnimeKai Ai Hub - Mood Anime → Notifications.

07 Sharing & third parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data may be processed by:

  • Google (AdMob) — advertising and consent
  • TMDB — anime metadata and images
  • Apple — App Store, iOS system services, and optional App Store review prompts
  • YouTube — when you play trailers (via embedded player or opening the YouTube app/browser)

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our users and the integrity of the app.

08 Your choices & rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your data.

  • Control ad tracking via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Reset advertising identifier in Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising.
  • Delete local app data by uninstalling AnimeKai.
  • Contact us at animekaippri@proton.me for privacy questions or requests.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or other regions with data protection laws, you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

09 Children’s privacy

AnimeKai is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10 Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the revised policy. For material changes, we may provide additional notice in the app where appropriate.
